Pensions special

The pension reform is edging ever nearer, with a UK launch date of October 2012; Fourth Hospitality has teamed up with NEST to provide up-to-date information to help enable Fourth customers to remain compliant.

Automatic enrolment will bring about fundamental changes to the pensions landscape and will affect every employer in the UK. Whilst awareness of automatic enrolment and NEST is growing, there is still quite a lot of confusion about what is happening and what firms need to do to prepare.

"The Fourth Hospitality workshop will provide a fantastic opportunity for you to learn more and to help you prepare for the changes to come. I will be available after the workshop to answer your questions."
Brenda Vanann,
Employer Relationship Manager, NEST

Please book a place in the get involved section below.

There are also spaces left for the Talent retention workshop on the 3rd of November being run by learnpurple. You can book a place via the Fourth website.

Kind regards

Photos from the Maybourne hotels

The Success Team have recently reviewed how the Maybourne were using the stock management solution and helped them get them working in a more uniform manner across the group. Success helped them understand roles and responsibilities on the portal.

Maybourne Hotel Group

Guests choose Claridge's, the Connaught and the Berkeley because the Maybourne Hotel Group insist on the best - including the exquisite service you would expect of 5 star hotels in London and world-class dining venues like Marcus Wareing at the Berkeley.

Each of their luxury hotels in London has a distinct personality - Claridge's Art Deco glamour, the Connaught's discreet elegance and the Berkeley's exquisite innovation. But alongside this individuality, each displays the authenticity and intuition that makes it unmistakably a Maybourne hotel.

The hotels offer service that anticipates every need. In each hotel, the staff combine impeccable service with a personalised attention to detail. Making perfection seem effortless is their pride - and their pleasure.

" We are very happy with the support you have given the team, and your training methods are very professional. "
Nicola Cross,
FnB Systems and Procurement Consultant

Legal news

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has recently introduced some cost-saving changes concerning reporting of incidents and the availability of information. Only fatal incidents and those resulting in major injury may now be reported by telephone. All other incidents need to be reported online at www.hse.gov.uk/riddor/report.htm. Complaints raised by employees and the public concerning the workplace will also change to an online system.

From 1st October 2011 the HSE's helpline (Infoline) will also close. The HSE has advised employees to use the HSE website and employers to seek specialist advice from a reputable health and safety consultant.

Hi, I'm Stacey Heathcote and I am the Bureau Manager responsible for the day to day running of the Payroll Bureau at Fourth based in Macclesfield.

For the past 11 years I have worked in a Payroll Bureau environment where I have been responsible for managing large teams and the service delivery to customers. During my career in payroll I have studied and completed the Diploma in Payroll Management and later successfully completed the MSc in Payroll and Business Management.

Since joining Fourth at the beginning of 2011 I have enjoyed working closely with our customers, the Payroll teams and the other departments within the business, building robust relationships to ensure we are constantly challenging the way we work together and improving the service we provide. The most satisfactory element of my role is to see the service improvements our team have made and the positive impact that has on our customer's businesses.

It is a very exciting time to be part of Fourth Hospitality and I am looking forward to what the future holds.

Managers should always check the Rota summary report before submitting to payroll. Any changes that are made in payroll will cause there to be differences to the rota figure. Setting up pensions through payroll module ensures that you have the correct deductions going through every month. Before closing payroll you should initially run the payroll summary individual pay period report which is your gross to net report showing all deductions.

fnb manager It's possible to see what the theoretical stock on hand is for all sites in one place as long as they are in the same Unit and have the same period date range.

To do this, login to site and click Manage your Products. On the right hand side click Organise. You will see the Show "Stock On Hand" and "Stock on Order" columns tick box, tick this and Save.

Click on Manage Products again and then chose the cost centre and categories that you wish to view. You will see the stock on hand with a hyperlink underneath is e.g. 92 which is the theoretical stock at this site.

If you click on this it will let you see a list of all sites with this stock and the theoretical stock on hand available at those sites. This could allow you to transfer stock as opposed to ordering from your suppliers or main cellar.

trade simple You can publish stories displaying things such as cut off times, products changes or reminders to keep users up to date with what's going on with products and suppliers. If you only want the stories to be seen by people in your organisation, just un-tick the Visible to the public on the publication detail page. If you want to create a story for public viewing then tick this box and the information will now be shown on the login page.

star chef If you are consistent in how you create ingredients in Starchef it will make things easier when searching for items. For example writing 'Apple - Granny Smith' and 'Apple - Golden Delicious' will mean you can quickly see if all Apple ingredients have been created as they will be in alphabetical order.
