Paul Watson
Customer Success Manager
As one of the UK's leading restaurant groups, Individual Restaurant Company Plc are responsible for a family of brands including Piccolino, The Restaurant Bar and Grill, Zinc Bar and Grill and Bank restaurant and bar.
Individual Restaurant Company Plc is a collection of fabulous, individual establishments where everything that is served, is freshly prepared daily on the premises using carefully sourced premium ingredients. Currently thay have a total of 33 restaurants under the IRC umbrella.
Each restaurant is fitted to a high specification with distinct characteristics and atmosphere focusing on quality and service. IRC say - The business is going from strength to strength with numerous new additions to the family of restaurants planned for the near future.

As the company grew IRC recognised the need to develop areas including the employee management system. With this in mind in February of this year IRC overhauled its portal and configured Fourth Hospitality's People System to take advantage of its more advanced cost monitoring, rota scheduling and reporting capabilities.

"The system has revolutionized the way that I work, everything can now be done quickly and easy without manual input" , "I am so pleased that we decided to go with Fourth Hospitality."
Rosie Johnson, General Manager of Piccolino Exchange Square.

This system enables IRC to ensure that they have the right number of staff working at the right time of day, to ensure our guest receive outstanding service and this improved visibility has re-engaged our team. In addition, the newly installed 'Time and Attendance' module allows managers to easily control pay and attendance without manual input.

Fourth Hospitality systems now underpin IRC's business.

Hi, I'm Rebecca Collin and I am part of the customer success team at Fourth.

One of the most enjoyable points of my job is being able to be out meeting our clients, really getting to understand their business and seeing how we can really help them achieve their goals. Part of the service we are offering is our heath check. This service will allow us to measure the usage of the Fourth products at site level and help clients get the most from the system. Having come from a background in auditing within hospitality I have seen the amazing results this approach brings.

I have been with Fourth since 2009 starting in the training department and have recently moved in to the new success team to focus on the people system. Previous to Fourth I have always worked in the hospitality industry, working in numerous roles with many exciting companies. Delivering great customer service has always been a huge drive and passion for me and hopefully I will be working with you to share this.

Counting Stock
When counting your stock it's best practice to count it at the end of the current stock period and before the beginning of business in the next stock period. This ensures that the stock value at the end and beginning of your periods is correct at all times.

Of course, this isn't always possible if you have a 24/7 operation but you should certainly ensure you have a cut off period for the count to be entered and stick to it. This should be a consistent cut off.

Once you have entered the stock, close the stock period and then look at the stock reconciliation using the Show Only Differences Option. Print this off and compare it to your tally sheet. Firstly make sure you have entered into fnb what was on the tally sheet. Secondly if you are sure what you entered is correct then you should highlight and go back and count the big difference. Once you are the 100% sure that the stock is correct, then you can be confident that any differences are not because the closing count is wrong which in turn can point you in the direction of the differences.
Holidays and absences booked within people system can be viewed on the holidays calendar. You can use this calendar to check who is on holiday before authorising. This also allows you to drill down to view salaried or rota paid staff. On this page you can also see Lieu days and unauthorised holiday! When entering stock, to view only the products with an opening stock or transactions against them select the "Hide Products not in Use" button in the stock count. This will hide all unused items shortening the time it takes to enter your count. The system automatically enters a zero against anything not counted. When looking for invoices and you are unable to find them, try changing the date parameters in the search box and if looking for invoices over 30 days old remember to uncheck the "Restrict to 30 days?" field. This will then display your missing invoices.
